This international 2 year master program focuses on a new generation of spatial decision support systems. It combines two of the most promising technologies of the next century: Geotechnology and Operations Research.

This unique and innovative master program “SPATIAL DECISION SUPPORT SYSTEMS: GEOGRAPHIC INFORMATION SCIENCE AND OPERATIONS RESEARCH “ is the first of its kind in Europe, and offers its graduates exciting careers as system designers, project leaders or consultants for spatial decision making solutions in many areas of industry.

The great variety of application fields includes natural disaster management, environmental protection, network infrastructure optimization, water information systems, healthcare management or traffic and insurance simulation.

• Know-how in design and development of GI-Applications with focus on SDSS and Operations Research (OR)
• Project Management

Research
The program has a major focus on applied research by solving real world problems with innovative methods and techniques. Most of the thesis projects are conducted in cooperation with our partners in public administration, academia and the private sector. Examples of challenging master thesis projects are: “Development of a distributed Service Framework for Location-based Decision Support”; “Comparison, Analysis and Visualisation of Multiple Scenarios for Network Infrastructures”;” Application of SDSS Methods for Site Selection of Small Hydropower Plants in Bulgaria”.
