M.Sc. in Computer Science
Praxisbezug
The distinguishing characteristicof the new curricula is that whilethe MICT program places stronger emphasis on solid foundations of IT and its applications, the MScCS program stresses its research-orientation. In particular, the MScCS program is tightly embedded into the research activities in the School of IT, i.e., those of the Center for Intelligent Interaction and Communication.
Through research seminars and a thesis project that spans two trimesters (eight months), MScCS students are constantly engaged and trained in research through exposure to faculty research.
Together with the tradition of small group education at IU, this enables students to complete a substantial thesis and continue their studies towards a Ph.D. or pursue a career in research and development.
