Praxisbezug - MSc Human Resource Development

This vocationally focused post-graduate course is for those who wish to become or to develop further as personnel and development professionals and for managers whose role includes a considerable element of human resource management.
The programme offers a nationally and internationally recognised professional qualification, enhanced career prospects, development of professional and managerial abilities and the chance to meet and exchange expertise with other personnel professionals. Successful completion of the Postgraduate Diploma attracts Graduate Membership of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD), an essential career prerequisite in the UK.
The Masters equips course members to operate at a strategic HR level. The University of Portsmouth is one of only nine CIPD Centres of Excellence for Personnel and Development Education in the British Isles and has a considerable track record in this discipline. The part time PgC and PgD are also franchised to Chichester college and delivered in Guernsey and the Cayman Islands, BWI.
The programme includes teaching on four days a week from October to December, then three days a week from January to May. Between January and March students undertake a professional placement in an HR department. Examinations are sat in December and May with further coursework assessment submitted throughout the 8 month period.
The Masters is taught in an intensive one-week teaching block in June, followed by an extra day of Dissertation Workshop the following week. The Dissertation to be submitted by the end of the following November.
