Praxisbezug - MA Economics for Business

The course is aimed at graduates who have not studied degree-level economics (If you have, you should consider one of the other Masters courses we offer). The course aims to equip you with the economic tools needed for the challenging environments associated with jobs in both the business and public sector.
The course is based in the friendly atmosphere of the Department of Economics. The staff in the Department, many of whom teach on this programme, are well-known for the quality of their research, often at international level, as well as for their approachability and willingness to talk to students outside scheduled class times. The skills of other staff in the Business School are also available as necessary. The Department runs a regular staff and post-graduate seminar programme, which you are invited to attend.
The degree is part of a thriving suite of economics-based Masters degrees run by the Department (see other entries), on which there is an international mix of many students from all corners of the globe. If you like meeting people from other countries at the same time as learning relevant economics-based skills to enhance your job prospects, this is the course for you.The course concentrates on the applied and practical nature of Economics and emphasis is placed on the use of computers.
Techniques learnt can be practised in computer workshops using appropriate and up-to-date econometric and related software. This hands-on experience is an important skill to learn and also helps you understand the related theoretical concepts. Students always comment highly on this feature of the course.
