The structure of the programme, in which studio practice is supported by reflective critical thought, employs teaching and learning strategies which are flexible and sensitive to the needs of individual students. Learning programmes are essentially student driven.
The programme provides opportunity for students working within the traditional studio disciplines of painting and sculpture as well as those working within digital and lens-based media. The Department of Art and Design is also distinctive in having established research interests in the areas of non-toxic printmaking and textiles within a fine art context, and would welcome candidates who wish to develop their practice in these areas.
