The part-time Executive MBA program, jointly offered by the WU Executive Academy and the Carlson School of Management, University of Minnesota will start on April 1, 2009 for the 10th consecutive year. Participants of the program receive two degrees, an American and a European degree. The program belongs to the elite circle of MBA programs to be triple accredited (AACSB, EQUIS und FIBAA) is top-listed in international rankings and taught in English.
The WU Executive MBA program focuses on general management and leadership issues. Emphasis is placed on the impact of globalization, the development of appropriate corporate strategies, the management of change processes and the acquisition of solid financial management skills.
During 14 months and only 40 working days off-the job, participants work on three continents and earn degrees from two leading business schools in America and Europe. Ten modules of four days each are taught in Vienna and are embedded in two-weeks pre- and post module distance learning phases. There are also three international field studies to Eastern Europe (Bucharest & St. Petersburg), Asia (Guangzhou & Bangalore) and America (New York & Minneapolis).
A particular highlight of the program is the participation in a virtual team project. Here participants develop business plans with Executive MBA students from Warsaw (Poland), Guangzhou (China) and Minneapolis (USA). All teams gather to present their results at the end of the program in Minneapolis.
Moreover, the WU Executive MBA is top listed in international rankings. In the latest Financial Times (FT) Executive MBA Ranking the WU Executive MBA came in with a respectable rank 52 out of the top 100 programs in the world. In terms of Career Progress, Work Experience and International Students the program was ranked 24, 30 and 35. In 2006 the program was ranked among the top 50 MBA programs worldwide by Handelsblatt (Germany).
