The DBA is a professional doctorate, designed to enable you to make a significant contribution to the enhancement of rofessional practice in the business area through the application and development of theoretical frameworks. The programme is of particular relevance to practising managers who, already armed with an MBA, wish to take their learning to the next level and continue to use the workplace as a testing-ground for their research.
The programme differs from a PhD, which emphasises the development of new knowledge and theories, in that it is concerned with researching real business and management issues. Despite the difference in orientation, the DBA is of equal status with the PhD, requiring a similarly rigorous approach to research.
