Schwerpunkte / Curriculum
The scope and pace of change in business is faster than ever before and the role of marketing is increasingly important in helping companies and organisations achieve their objectives.
The well established and successful MA Marketing programme is designed to help future and current marketers build from a solid base of theoretical understanding to levels where they can intelligently apply their understanding to complex real life problems.
The programme which is delivered by a team of around 14 academic staff covers all major areas of marketing and also allows students in taught units and the dissertation to pursue specialist interests. Past students have enjoyed considerable success in their subsequent careers and for any applicant with the required level of ability and motivation this can be a clear step forward on the route towards a senior marketing post.
The programme may be studied full time or part time. Full time students are normally required to attend two taught semesters (semester 1 runs from October to January, semester 2 runs from February to May) and then to submit a dissertation by 1 December.
Part-Time students study the programme over four semesters and submit a dissertation by 1 April of the following year. However, students are able to postpone their studies should they need to do so for work related or personal reasons.
This flagship programme has been established at Portsmouth Business School since 1995 and has attracted a strong cohort of students every year. There are no options and there is a traditional dissertation.
The units of study are as follows:
