Although the School of Management of Warsaw University has been in existence for over 30 years, it is the oldest faculty of its kind in Central Europe. It goes back to 1972, when the Institute of Management Studies was set up at the Warsaw University.

From its inception, the School of Management has aimed to train managers for Polish business and local and central government. On average there are over 5000 students enrolled in the programs at the School. From 1972 thousands graduates obtained master’s degrees from the faculty and over 150 doctorates were conferred. Bachelor degrees were conferred for the first time in 1995 (180 graduates) and to the date there have been over 2000 graduates with a B.A. in Management Studies; more than 80% of these went on to enroll for a master’s degree program at the School of Management.
