The School of Economics and Business Administration (FCEE) was founded in 1989 following the restructuring and reorganisation of the courses and departments that were then part of the Faculty of Human Sciences.

The FCEE has around one thousand full-time undergraduate students and over one hundred lecturers, making it one of the largest faculties at the Catholic University. The School is very active in both education and research, and is nationally and internationally recognised as one of the finest schools of management and economics in Portugal.
The FCEE had held a leading position in teaching management since 1972, when it introduced the first degree taught in this area in Portugal. This was consolidated when the Post-Graduate School (EPG) was founded in 1991 and an innovative MBA programme was launched, adopting a part-time approach and offering specialist options.
